A large recycling centre at Garth Road (entrance via Amenity Way) in Morden is open to public 8am to 4pm, seven days a week for cars.
Follow the road to the right (the first entrance is for vans and large vehicles) and the entrance to the recycling area is shortly on your right.

One way to recycle is to use sites like freecycle.org They have locals groups so all of the stuff is within a short distance from you or if someone wants something you have they can easily pick it up
