Us Collywooders have proved to be true animals lovers judging by the posts in the local social media groups.

Having rescued cats myself I know RSPCA do not always have the time to assist but VETERINARY ASSIST is Morden is great for lending a helping hand. If you're trying to trap/help an animal (domestic or wild) in distress get in touch.

They is committed to providing, through their charitable arm, essential services in time of need, regardless of the client's circumstances.

If you find an injured cat, dog or any domestic animal you can take it to any of the local veterinary surgeries or BLUE CROSS Animal Hospital on the High Street.

A firm favourite with Collywooders. It's at the corner of the High Street and Cavendish Road

The latest addition (February 2023) to the cafes in Colliers Wood. Next door to the tube station on Christchurch Road (out of the tube and turn right)

CANEDO

Portuguese cafe & delicatessen next to Fish Inn
on the corner of the High Street and Marlborough Road

LIQUI LIQUI

This Venezuelan cafe and Latin deli is on the High Street
next door to the Merton Bus Garage, opposite Sainsburys

There are three places in central Colliers Wood you can exchange currency

1. The Post Office inside the Costcutter shop next to the tube station on Christchurch Road

2. Inside Sainsbury's

The exchange booth is on the second floor. Go up the escalator and turn left towards the toilets. The booth is just before the corridor to the toilets. If coming up on the bigger travelator from the parking garage turn right and walk around the mezzanine. The booth is on your left just before the corridor to the toilets

3. Marks & Spencer in the same building as the Sainsbury's superstore. Follow in-store instructions, the Bureau de Change is on the second floor (PLEASE NOTE DUE TO COVID THE M&S Bureau De Change MAY BE CLOSED)

CASHPOINTS

Outisde the the Post Office (1)

Outiside Tesco Express (Esso) (3) on the High Street and inside Sainsbury's (4)

When entering Sainbury's from Merton High Street go left of the travelator towards the car park. The cashpoints are under the travelator. When entering from the parking garage the cashpoints are on your right under the travelator.

There is one cash point in Tandem Centre between Boots and Sports Direct

CHOIR

Colliers Wood has its very own choir called Colliers Wood Chorus

The choir is open to all ages and abilities, with no requirement to be able to read music

However choir is very popular so they usually have a waiting list for all voice groups

The are two churches in Colliers Wood.

Christ Church (built in 1873), is located on Christchurch Road minutes from the tube station towards Mitcham

St. Joseph's Catholic Church is on Colliers Wood High Street towards Tooting

A family day out favourite Deen City Farm & Riding School is south of Colliers Wood along the river Wandle on the edge of Morden Hall Park

Vehicle access to the site is from Windsor Avenue

Colliers Wood Community Centre is on the High Street a short walk from the tube station

Turn right and walk towards Tooting, the centre is on the left side of the street opposite Marlborough Road

The nearest cinemas are in Wimbledon:

ODEON at 39 The Broadway, The Crescent, SW19 1QB

and

HMV CURSON at Second Floor, 23 The Broadway, London SW19 1RE

There is a VUE cinema in Croydon in the retail park
where IKEA is located

Clapham has a PICTUREHOUSE cinema, a short walk from
Clapham Common tube station

There is a CINEWORLD cinema in the Southside Shopping Centre on Garratt Lane in Wandsworth
